How we approach patios.
A patio is one of the most-used spaces we build, which means base preparation matters more here than almost anywhere else on the property. Excavation depth, compacted aggregate base, and edge restraint determine whether a patio stays flat and tight for years or starts shifting and gapping within a season or two.
Beyond the base, patio design is about how the space actually gets used — dining, a fire feature, a transition point to the yard — and we lay out the shape and material accordingly, rather than defaulting to a rectangle.
